The International Dobermann Club was founded in the year 1959. The French Dobermann Club was the organiser of this meeting. Several countries got an invitation and on this meeting plans and regulations were made. In this year also the breedingstandard was published in the German Dobermann Magazine Unser Dobermann.
The following countries were member in the early years: France, switserland, Great Britain, Norway, Canada, the Netherlands, Brasil, Italy and Germany.
The first Siegertitel was given to Citta v. Fürstenfeld on 28th of May 1960 on a CACIB Show in Lausanne Switserland.
From 1965 till 1978 there are no records of any activity of the IDC. In 1979 several countries got together again and after several years the first IDC show was held in Strassbourg on the 23th of september.
